History: Bethel means "the House of God." That's why we desire to always be a place where people can gather to worship God and discover a REAL purpose of life. The first steps of establishing an Assembly of God Church in Hagerstown began as home prayer meetings. Finally, on July 11, 1919, a tent meeting was held for ten days, and from this Bethel Assembly of God was birthed. LIFEhouse Church Bethel continues to enjoy a rich heritage. Many have gone out from here as pastors, pastors wives, and missionaries. As we celebrate our eightieth year as a fellowship, we look to the future with excitement and a great anticipation of what the Lord will continue to do in our congregation and our church.
