ABOUT ME...

As far as I’m concerned there’s really only a couple of things that you need to know about me that should give you a good perspective on “what I’m all about!”

First- my family! I have the greatest wife in the entire world, Jo Ann. Her integrity, character, and prophetic insight are the purest I’ve ever encountered! We have three children, Casey, Corey, and Cayla. Casey is married to Julianna, and they began teaching English in Japan in the Fall of 2006. He’s one of the most intellectual, yet refreshingly charming people I know! Corey is studying graphic design and has completed his second year of college and is incredibly creative as an artist and musician. Cayla, well she’s the “golden child,” as we like to joke- she’s a senior in High School and is an amazing athlete, as well as, gifted prophetically, like her mother!

Second- my church! I have been the senior pastor of LIFEhouse Church Bethel for the past 10 years and it’s been a blast- intentionally and unintentionally! We like to say that the one constant you can count on at LIFEhouse Church Bethel is change. We now have a leadership team and congregation that are willing to have some Big Hairy Audacious Goals! As a result, we’ve built a network of relationships with people around the world who are all committed to modeling the New Testament Church in this 21st Century. I have the privilege of speaking at and conducting leadership conferences internationally on a consistent basis. I’ve written a book and I’m working on several other book projects. And right now, my leadership at LIFEhouse Church Bethel and beyond is all about asking one simple question, “What if, every day, for every person, in every way, life’s passion and purpose was simply all about being more like Jesus?”

Finally- my Opinions (in random order)! Donald Miller’s books, "Blue Like Jazz" and "Searching for God Knows What", should be read by every pastor in America! Colts, Terps, Orioles- enough said! Religious systems suck the life out of LIFE! The Eagles are the greatest worship band ever- sadly, they’re just not Christians- people do worship at their concerts! Most church activity produces little more than more church activity! There’s something more important than tolerance and that’s truth! Vera Rowe makes the best oatmeal raisin cookies in the world! People who excel in life are those who produce results, not excuses! The greatest line ever in a movie- from “The Return of the King, The Lord of the Rings”- There may come a day when the hearts of men may fail them, but it will not be this day!
